It is recognized that many of the men employed in the mines of the Pacific Coast Coal Company are recent arrivals in the state, and although they have been instructed as fully as possible as to the safety requirements of the mines, it may help them to remember to have the laws brought before them in printed form.

There is nothing more important than for the men to be thoroughly conversant with the mining laws of the state, as it will help them not only to be more efficient workmen, but better citizens. (more…)

New Pacific Coast Coal Co logo - 1927Mr. Moore [Pacific Coast Coal Co. vice president] referred to the undersigned a suggestion made by one of the committeemen at a recent mine council meeting, that a company general store be established at Issaquah, and also requested that I investigate existing store prices at Issaquah and publish results in the Bulletin.

It was stated at the council meeting by Mr. Moore that an effort would be made to have the Issaquah stores adjust their prices and improve their service, but if this was not possible, the company would consider installing a merchandise store of its own. (more…)
