Burlington_Northern_LogoThe Burlington Northern is now in the process of removing about two-and-a-half miles of its track leading from the south side of Witte Road through to the southeast edge of Lake Wilderness. The track runs along a one-hundred-foot right-of-way, some of which skirts the lake’s edge. The trestle is also slated for removal.

The abandoned railroad bed is free of bisecting traffic. Both Highway 169 and 200th SE are bridged over the track. It would serve as an ideal recreation trail leading into the 108-acre King County Lake Wilderness Park. (more…)
