The clash that everyone has been waiting for in soccer circles will be played Sunday as the feature of the Civic Stadium’s tripleheader. In the finals for the George Washington Cup, Black Diamond is meeting the young Piston Service team to decide the owner of the mug.
The other two tilts billed pit Dr. Clark’s Dentists against the Stevenson F.C. and Dr. Reid’s Dentists again playing the Vikings. Both of these are regular league contests.
The most unexpected defeat of the Stevenson F.C. last week by the young Ice Delivery Company practically takes the Stevensons out of the championship race picture.
The final cup game this Sunday should be a corker with two such fine aggregations as Piston Service and Black Diamond meeting in the match. Pistons have an extremely fast forward wall, but will meet with a stubborn defense in the backfield of the Miners. The main game will be played at 2:45 o’clock.
